When a home is sold at a foreclosure or tax sale for more than what was owed, the extra money is often held for the former owner or their heirs. Most people never hear about it. TMS Partners helps you find it, file for it, and get it back.
TMS Partners is a surplus funds recovery company based in Louisiana. We search public sale and court records to find money owed to former property owners and their families, then reach out and help them claim it.
Recovering these funds can mean court filings, deadlines, and proving who is entitled to the money. We take that work off your plate so you can focus on what matters to you.
We explain where the money came from, who is holding it, and what it takes to claim it, in plain language.
You pay nothing out of pocket. Our fee comes only from funds that are actually recovered for you.
You work directly with one of our three owners, not a call center.
If a sale or account left money in your name, or in the name of a family member who has passed away, we can help you pursue it.
When a mortgage foreclosure sale brings in more than the debt owed, the overage may belong to the former owner.
Property sold for unpaid taxes can leave excess proceeds behind that the former owner can claim.
Money held by courts or agencies that was never collected by the person it belongs to.
If the former owner has passed away, their heirs may be entitled to the funds. We help families sort out the claim.
Based in Louisiana and currently helping clients in Louisiana, Arkansas, Arizona, and Alabama, with more states on the way.
You stay informed the whole way. We do the heavy lifting.
We review public sale and court records and identify money that may be owed to you or your family.
We contact you, explain what we found, and answer your questions. There's no cost and no obligation.
With your agreement, we gather the documents and prepare and pursue the claim, working with an attorney when the court requires one.
Once the funds are released, you receive your money. We are paid only from what is recovered.
Every case is different. Timing depends on the state, the court, and whether anyone else files a claim.

DRAFT BIO – FOR APPROVALWhen a property is sold at a foreclosure or tax sale for more than what was owed, the leftover amount is called surplus funds, overages, or excess proceeds. That money is usually held by the court or another agency for the former owner, or for their heirs if the owner has passed away. It typically isn't paid out automatically. Someone has to claim it.
No. There is no upfront cost and nothing to pay out of pocket. We work on a contingency basis, which means we only get paid if your funds are recovered, and our fee comes out of the recovered amount. Your agreement spells out the terms in writing before we begin.
Property sales and court cases are public records. We review those records to find sales where money may be owed to the former owner, then reach out. You can confirm the case yourself with the court or clerk that handled the sale. We will never ask you for a credit card or an upfront payment.
It depends on the state, the court, and the details of the case, such as whether other parties file claims or heirs need to be identified. Some claims move quickly and others take longer. We'll give you a realistic picture of your case and keep you updated throughout.
Yes. You have the right to file a claim on your own without hiring anyone. Many people choose to work with us because the process can involve court filings, deadlines, and paperwork they'd rather not handle themselves.
Often, yes. Heirs may be entitled to the funds. These claims usually require extra documents to show who the rightful heirs are, and we help families work through that process.
Reach out with your name and the property address, and one of our owners will get back to you. Checking costs nothing.
